David is Of Counsel at Dymera IP, where he collaborates with technically trained attorneys and patent agents to deliver high-quality intellectual property legal services.

David earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Oklahoma, where he joined the US Navy as a Nuclear Propulsion Officer Candidate following 9/11. Prior to starting law school, he went to the Pentagon for a summer internship where he worked on patents that could be utilized by the Department of Defense. David went on to earn his J.D. from the Oklahoma City University School where he focused on intellectual property.

David joined the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in 2009, where he became a primary patent examiner in cryptography, information security, networking, and language learning models. When the Rocky Mountain Regional Office opened in 2014, he joined the regional office in roles of Outreach Advisor and acting Regional Outreach Officer. He was hired as the permanent Assistant Regional Director in 2020 where he conducted community outreach across a 9-state region that covered Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Kansas. He also has served on the planning committee of the Rocky Mountain Intellectual Property and Technology Law Institute for the last several years. David brings a strong commitment to public service, as well as diverse experiences and knowledge to his work in intellectual property.
